NASA Discovers a New Cleaning System
NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) is a major NASA space research center. GSFC is the largest combined organization of scientists and engineers in the United States dedicated to increasing knowledge of the earth, and its place in the via observations from space using unmanned scientific spacecraft developed and operated by Goddard scientists.
15 years ago Goddard identified a need for a special cleaner for their electronics development lab. It had to be compact to fit in a small lab and clean everything in the prototype space lab from stencils and squeegees to space flight hardware with an automatic and repeatable process. Austin American Technology X-30 cleaner was selected by GSFC engineers and installed in the Flight Center Space Lab where it has been used to clean both space fight hardware and the manufacturing tools need for building the hardware.
This year GSFC purchased an upgraded Austin American Technology X-30 cleaner with a new control system and user friendly touch screen interface to serve the lab presumably for the next 15 years of space exploration.
